There’s a lot of “new year, new you” messaging this time of year. Add that to the constant barrage of work and family responsibilities, and it can feel hard not to buy into the narrative of constant self-improvement and productivity.
But there’s an alternative—committing to genuine self-care instead.
If we expect ourselves to keep up with that deluge of duties, we need to add another priority to our list: ourselves. That’s where Chapter Aesthetic Studio comes in. Whatever way you’re looking to feel better, Chapter will work with you to make it happen.
On my recent visit to Chapter’s Orchard Park location, I immediately felt like I had walked into the home of a cool, trendy friend. The lobby is bright and well decorated, an inviting place to browse products or sip coffee as you fill out paperwork.
The studio has 10 private rooms where clients can receive treatments ranging from medical-grade facials, vitamin injections and laser hair removal to body contouring and Botox injections.
It all starts with the complimentary MAP (My Aesthetic Plan) assessment, an in-depth consultation about your unique skin needs. My aesthetic advisor Amy was friendly and informative, chatting with me about my skincare history and walking me through the process. She, like all Chapter Aesthetic Studio employees, attended intensive, weeks-long training onsite at the flagship location in North Dakota.
Part of MAP is dermal imaging—high-res photos that show what’s going on beneath the skin’s surface, such as UV damage, pores, bacteria and discoloration—and we discussed each image in detail. She answered my many questions with thoughtful answers, and I never once felt rushed.
A key part of Chapter’s services is a personalized skin consultation, which includes dermal imaging and conversation about your skin history and goals.
The extent of my skincare has been sporadic dermatology appointments and browsing the facewash aisle at Target. High-end services and products seemed intimidating. However, Amy made it clear that Chapter welcomes everyone and has a solution for any issue, regardless of where the client is in their skincare journey. Financing is available, and there is a membership program, Circle, that offers discounts and other perks.
Also, all products for sale are pharmaceutical grade, meaning they’re the highest quality out there and contain purer and more active ingredients than cosmetic-grade products.
“Everyone deserves to feel their best—everyone is worth it,” she said during my consultation.
For my first treatment, we settled on the Skinwave facial, which Amy described as a good first experience for someone new to aesthetic services. It’s noninvasive, gentle yet effective and totally customizable for your unique needs.
She handed me off to Annabel, the aesthetician who would be giving me my facial. What followed was an hour of pampering that felt like a tiny island of vacation in the sea of my busy week. Annabel described each step, explaining what was happening and why.
The Skinwave involves a mild suction that clears your pores while simultaneously delivering a dose of brightening, hydrating and repairing acid solutions. That’s followed by hydrogen therapy, lymphatic roller massage and light therapy. It ends with the application of moisturizing and repairing products chosen specifically for my skin needs (all of which can be purchased on site).
All products for sale at Chapter are pharmaceutical grade, meaning they’re the highest quality out there and contain purer and more active ingredients than cosmetic-grade products.
My skin felt healthy, dewy and radiant—and the effects last for up to a month.
I left Chapter feeling truly relaxed and renewed. My to-do list still loomed, but for those few hours, I was the No. 1 priority. As the saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Find what fills yours at Chapter.
Chapter’s MAP consult is completely free, and no accompanying service appointment is required. Chapter is also offering 50% off the first service for new guests.
