Lynsey Turos is all about the vibes. Positive vibes. Chill vibes. Groovy vibes. You name it, and her Buffalo-based online store, Nectarine Dreams, embodies it.
Launched in 2021, Nectarine Dreams specializes in small-batch shoes inspired by the free-spirited style of the 1960s and ‘70s.
“If you’re anything like me, you wish you had a time machine to go back to a simpler time where you were free to embrace your inner flower child or glam rock goddess,” says Lynsey. “We want to bring those retro vibes right to your doorstep.”
Mission accomplished. With a dreamy selection of platform heels, go-go boots and oxfords—most imagined and designed by Lynsey herself—you can load up your cart and expect good vibes delivered to your door in six days or less.

And when your new shoes arrive, just be cool. OK?
“I feel like some people make wearing vintage shoes harder than it is,” says Lynsey. “I always suggest a basic, neutral outfit. Like flare jeans and a white T-shirt but then add platform heels. That’s the whole outfit! Make the shoes the statement piece.”
Once you’ve got confidence, let inspiration lead the way—just like Lynsey does.
“Recently, I was at the beach, and I saw a woman’s towel. It was orange and pink floral print. I took a picture of it because I knew I needed it on a pair of go-go boots,” she says, laughing.
Floral, paisley, embroidered and patchwork designs are really ‘in’ right now when it comes to looks from way back when. Plus, the Buffalo Bills never go out of style. So Lynsey offers two variations of boots in special Zubaz designs.
Beyond TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest, you can also look to the stars for inspo. Diana Ross, Cher, Stevie Nicks, and Chaka Khan all knew how to rock a bell bottom jean with sky high boots.
Nectarine Dreams offers a wide variety of style guides through its carefully curated social media feeds. Everything from fresh spring boot looks to makeup ideas, and even bold hot pants. Lynsey believes that fun, expressive clothing has the power to brighten entire days.
“I love when I wear a vintage outfit and older people come up to me and say they had the same pair of shoes back in the day,” she says. “It means my look is bringing joy to others, too.”
And how about this for good vibes?
For every purchase, Nectarine Dreams donates a percentage to various charities and non-profit organizations that support women, Black-owned businesses, education, people with disabilities and those in need.
Peace, love and really great shoes.
