Buffalo native, lifelong naturalist and insect lover Rebecca Flanders uses her art degree and background in floral design to create nature-inspired art and curiosities. At Feral Craft Studio, each delicate piece uses ethically sourced found and foraged materials, locally grown florals and found insects and bones, all preserved and artfully arranged under glass. The one-of-a-kind flowerpots crafted by Bree’s Botanicals will lend any space a vibrant pop of color and creativity. The planters are hand-painted and coated with a protective, waterproof sealant. Get your wander on
For the adventurous type, all sorts of treasures can be found at Wild Roamer, a shop located at 9 Monroe St. in Ellicottville. Founder Carrie Lynch grew up in Western New York and first learned screen printing at WNY Book Arts. She built her own recycled press, started experimenting with designs, and the rest is history. Her love for all things wild and outdoors is evident in the shop’s ever-changing stock, with pieces that balance functionality, fun and natural beauty.
PRICE: Hand-sewn and embellished cotton bandanas are $17-$27; printed wood mountain earrings are $26; and screen-printed adventure tees are $32.
One-of-a-kind jewelry
Vince the Jeweler, formerly of His + His Studio, has reopened as Underbite Studio at 428 Rhode Island St. in Buffalo. His handmade, metal-based creations include everything from custom wedding bands and engagement rings to more casual options like sterling silver stacking rings and hammered brass cuffs. He also offers workshops where participants can create their own rings—no experience needed. Check out his Instagram page for availability and to inquire about workshops.
