Annual harvests, gorgeous foliage and a crisp bite to the air combine to make fall one of the best times of the year to visit wineries. From warming up with a hearty wine next to an inviting firepit to hitting the walking trails without being under the blazing sun, it’s peak season for vineyard activities and adventures.
“It’s one of our favorite times of the year and it gives us the chance to roll out some great new offerings as well as bring back some of the popular events and specialty drinks that our patrons look for each autumn,” said Tamre Varallo, owner of Spring Lake Winery in Lockport.
Here’s a taste of what awaits at Spring Lake Winery this fall:
On football game days in September—15, 22 and 29—catch the action on 2 big screens while enjoying seasonal beer specials and hearty eats like chili, specials from the grill and more. Online reservations are available for this new, free event. Starts at 11AM with live music from 11AM-1PM.
Wine About Yoga
Find your center and feel the serenity among the parklike setting in this all-levels class that runs Tuesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. through Oct. 15. Enjoy class plus four tastings for $15 (class only is $10).
Take in the fall foliage and unique view of the vineyards as you pass by on this exclusive day excursion where you can join in on the Murder Mystery fun or just sit back and relax. Running Oct. 6 only, the voyage includes a tour of the Medina Railroad Museum followed by a catered dinner and live music upon return to Spring Lake Winery. First class riders enjoy preferred seating on the train and for the open bar at Spring Lake Winery, along with a bottle of wine and cheese platter served on the train. Tickets for 21+ event are $79 Coach and $125 First Class.
Hallowine Boos Bash
Occurring in conjunction with the Niagara Wine Trail Hallowine event, the party starts and ends at Spring Lake Winery. Spend the whole day hanging out by the lake or make a stop along the way. Take hayrides, play lawn games, walk the trails, enjoy the DJ and great live music, fill up on grub from the grill paired with your favorite wines, take advantage of bourbon and cigar specials or try out fun specialty drinks like their famous Caramel Apple Martini. And don’t forget to wear your Halloween costume! Free admission; online registration recommended for expedited check-in.
Chill out with wine
Spend your Sundays gathered ‘round the large firepit situated by the lake and warm up with one of Spring Lake Winery’s award-winning wines, brews from local crafters or a bourbon from Black Button Distillery.
