Planning a wedding can easily become exhausting and overwhelming, especially in the earlier stages. Brides World makes it easier by connecting you to local pros that know how to throw the perfect wedding, from the cake to the venue. Two floors of local wedding vendors and runway fashion shows take over the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center on Sunday, Jan. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Unless the Buffalo Bills take the field for a playoff game that day, in which case it will move to the day before, Saturday, Jan. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Here’s why you should add Brides World to your wedding to-dos:
Yep, you read that right. Tickets are free—and you can bring as many people as you want! Planning a wedding is something no one can do alone, so bring the ones you trust most along with you. Make a day out of it and bring your wedding party or keep it simple with just you and your fiancé. Only the bride needs to register for tickets.
Talk to the professionals face-to-face
It’s easy to go down the online rabbit hole of wedding planning. Sometimes you just need to connect with someone in person who knows what they are talking about.
Brides World has over 90 local vendors who are experienced and trusted in the business, ready to help you on your big day.
“You can make it into a really informative occasion rather than just looking and gathering,” says Nancy MacDonald, Brides World organizer and assistant vice president, marketing, of Tuxedo Junction. “You can get a lot of your questions answered.”
Nancy recommends doing a little research in advance, so you get the feel for what you’re looking for. Come up with a list of what you need as well as your budget.
Pro Tip: Bring a credit card with you, since many vendors will be offering special discounts that day. That way, if you find a vendor you click with, you can put your deposit down and check another thing off your list!
Be the first to see the latest trends
Brides World will showcase all the latest trends for the upcoming year, from dresses to cakes. With two fashion shows—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—Tuxedo Junction and M.A. Carr will highlight their best pieces for the whole wedding party.
Trends don’t just stop at dresses and tuxes either. Nancy says she is excited for a new vendor that’s coming to the show this year: Coyote Café food truck.
“Food trucks after weddings or for more casual weddings are becoming really popular,” she said. “They are a neat thing brides are loving.”
Not only will you check things off your planning to-do list, but you can also enter to win some great prizes! After the second fashion show, winners will be selected. Here’s a sneak peak of just a few of the things you could win:
- $1,000 in suits/tuxedos from Tuxedo Junction
- $200 towards a gown at M.A. Carr
- Overnight accommodations at the Sheraton at the Falls
- Club membership at 9Round Fitness Williamsville
