Looking to escape the house without dropping a lot of coin? Check out this select list of deals on local vittles and activities.

A flick for a fin

The Dipson Theatres in the McKinley Mall offer a selection of movies that have already enjoyed their run at bigger cinemas. If you can wait a few weeks after the premiere, 2D movies are $3 and 3D movies are $4 on weekends—it’s even cheaper Monday-Thursday, at $2.50 and $3. Plus, on Tuesdays soda fountain drinks and popcorn are half-off. Butter is always free—and it’s the good kind here.

Get a strike with spare change

Bowling is the perfect all-ages activity, and with prices ranging between four and eight quarters, who can object?

Classic Lanes on Military Road in Kenmore has $1 games every Tuesday from 9 p.m. until midnight. And if Tuesdays are your Dateline night, the lanes offer $1.25 games from 9 p.m. until midnight on Mondays.

Striker’s on Michael Road in West Seneca features a Sunday Funday special of $2 games from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. If you can stay up a little past your bedtime, there are also $2 games from 9:30 p.m.- midnight on Monday through Thursday.

Last but not least, local AMF lanes have $2.22 Tuesdays. That’s $2.22 games, $2.22 tacos, $2.22 tall boys and Long Island iced teas.

Deep fried deals

Monday is Wing Night in Buffalo, with some finger lickin’ good specials around the area.

The Pour House on Buffalo Street in Hamburg has 25-cent wings every Monday from 7 p.m. until midnight. Ebenezer Ale House in West Seneca and Eden Pub in Eden offer 30-cent wings.

Doc Sullivan’s in South Buffalo also offers 50-cent wings Mondays and Tuesdays (dine-in only).

At Anchor Bar’s Amherst location is Wing It Wednesday, which features a single order of wings and your choice of appetizer (fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, mac & cheese bites or crunch rolls) for $14.95.

Drink up discounts

With prices this low, a Happy Hour easily turns into happy hours.

Milkie’s on Elmwood features $2 well drinks and drafts every day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Plus, if you stop by on a Thursday, that liquid courage may motivate you to try karaoke at 8 p.m.

Down the road at Mister Goodbar, there’s Tallboy Tuesdays with 16 oz. cans for $3, with selections like Narragansett, Rolling Rock, Genny Cream Ale, Yuengling and Miller High Life. Plus, Monday through Wednesday, get BOGO appetizers from 10 p.m. to close when a drink is purchased.

Applebee’s, with locations across WNY, shouldn’t be left out of the conversation. The franchise has a different drink special each month for $1; February featured dollar hurricanes
to commemorate Mardi Gras. Keep track of the monthly selections on the restaurant’s website.
