Dying to get your jam on? Here are five clubs near downtown where tie dye is always in fashion.
Liberty Hound /
1 Naval Park, Canalside
During the summer, the Liberty Hound packs ‘em with jam bands performing on the patio overlooking the Buffalo Inner Harbor. Intimate and awesome.
Blue Monk /
727 Elmwood Ave.
Boutique brews, and killer live bands. Not exclusively jam-band oriented – jazz, blues and DJs fill the roster, too. But a great place to get your jam on when the time is right.
Town Ballroom /
681 Main St.
For the big touring jam-bands. Home to Moe. Whenever the Buffalo-born band comes home. The room that helped to break Umphrey’s McGee locally.
Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar /
253 Allen St.
Not exclusively jam band, but a regular stop for local proponents of the form. Intimate and dimly lit, a great room for those looking to lose themselves in the ebb and flow of improvisation-based music.
248 Allen St.
The hub of the Buffalo jam-band scene. Plenty of room for dancing.
