With Neko Case and the Mountain Goats already on board, Asbury Hall at Babeville (341 Delaware Ave.) continues to fill out its strong first half of 2016 with the announcement that Philadelphia singer-songwriter Kurt Vile, along with backing band the Violators, will perform at 8 p.m. March 31.

Since pursuing a solo career in 2008, the former War on Drugs member (and soon-to-be animated squirrel) has been meticulously evolving his melancholy slacker persona into a focused and sophisticated musician.

After breaking through with his 2013 record “Walkin' on a Pretty Daze,” Vile returned last fall with his much-awaited follow-up album “b’lieve i’m goin down…,” a collection of sprawling and introspective guitar rock that found itself on several year-end lists, further cementing his status as one of indie musics most consistent talents.

Tickets for Kurt Vile go on sale at Jan. 22 for $25 (box office, Ticketweb).
