For the third year in a row, the company is kicking off the M&T Bank Dance Series with a colorful slate of pieces that are sure to draw comment. Two world premieres are planned, called “Cash or Check?” and “Femeie de Lume” (Romanian for “Woman of the World”). The former has the feel of an old-fashioned nightclub, with gypsy jazz and blues. The latter is described as “a breathtakingly atmospheric work featuring one woman and four men, showcasing their beauty, strength and vulnerability.” Audience favorites also are on the program: “Fused by 8,” “Here in this Eden,” “SuperZeroes” and “Pantheon Rising.” The performance is at 8 p.m. Saturday in the UB Center for the Arts, North Campus, Amherst. A preconcert talk begins at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $28.50 (students of any school $13.50). Call 645-2787.
