A thirsty mob showed up for a past indoor Brewfest. The festival in August will move outdoors, from First Niagara Center to the Cobblestone District. The Aug. 8 craft beer festival is heading to Illinois Street in the Cobblestone District. It will go on rain or shine. It previously had been held at First Niagara Center. Organizers made the change to turn it into a “street festival,” perhaps reminiscent of the annually successful Allentown Art Festival. More than 50 craft beers from local and regional brewers will be available, and live music is also scheduled. “So much is happening in the Cobblestone District and the area around it like Canalside and HarborCenter, we thought it would be a natural fit to host the Buffalo Brewfest here,” said event co-chair Sam Savarino in a press release. The Cobblestone District includes Perry Street, Illinois Street, South Park Avenue and Michigan Street in downtown Buffalo. Tickets, which include admission, 20 tasting coupons and a souvenir glass, cost $25. The Brewfest runs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
